Named for the famous El Cortez Hotel, which has been restored and converted to condominiums, this is one of San Diego’s oldest residential neighborhoods. Still populated with many Victorian-style homes, newer condominiums and apartment complexes now dot the area. Elevated above the Core District, this area enjoys beautiful views of Balboa Park, the San Diego Bay and Pacific Ocean as well as sparkling night lights of the city.
The beautiful Discovery condominium complex sits high in the Cortez District and has now been joined by several newer projects. Cortez Blu shares the neighborhood with several other projects including Aria, Atmosphere, a condo project with combination of retail space available, and Firenze, another mixed-use project with condo and commercial space.
For those that long to live near the hustle and bustle of the city, but not in it, Cortez neighborhood provides the solution to city living.
